What Consult a Buddy is

Consult a Buddy is a free consulting prep resource, plus paid one to one case practice sessions, run by Ishaq Shah. It is not a recruitment agency, is not affiliated with OC&C, Bain, Deloitte, McKinsey, BCG or any firm mentioned on this site, and does not guarantee interviews, offers, or employment outcomes of any kind.

Booking and payment

Booking happens through the form on the free call page, followed by a direct message on WhatsApp to confirm a time. No payment is taken through the form itself. Payment is arranged directly between you and Ishaq once a time is confirmed, and is due before the session unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Cancellations and rescheduling

Let me know as early as possible if you need to move a session. Sessions cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice can be rescheduled at no extra cost. Cancellations with less notice, or no shows, may not be eligible for a refund or a free reschedule, since that slot was held for you specifically.

Refunds

If a session does not happen for a reason on my end, you will get a full refund or a free reschedule, whichever you prefer. Because sessions are time and effort delivered live, refunds are not offered simply because a session did not go the way you hoped, the same way a real interview does not come with a refund if it goes badly. Case specific concerns are always worth raising directly, and I will deal with them fairly and individually.

No guaranteed outcomes

Case practice improves structure, communication, and judgement under pressure. It cannot guarantee a pass, an offer, or any specific result, and no one offering case prep honestly can promise otherwise. Firm names, pay figures, and application processes referenced across this site are for context and preparation only. Always verify current details directly with the firm before applying.

Your information

The booking form collects your name, email, WhatsApp number, university, year of study, target firm, and optionally a CV. This is used only to prepare for and run your session, and to contact you about it. It is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for anything beyond that. Submissions are handled through Netlify Forms. If you would like your data deleted at any point, message and it will be actioned.

Confidentiality

What is discussed in a session, your background, your target firms, your performance, stays between us. Anything used publicly as an example (case recordings, scorecards, and similar) is only ever used with your explicit permission beforehand, not assumed.

The free guides, case breakdowns, and firm library on this site are provided as they are, for general preparation purposes. Pay figures and firm data are sourced where possible and clearly marked as estimates where they are not, but they change over time and should be treated as indicative, not exact.
